Happy Tuesday!
Today, I wanted to share a sneak peek from a recent shoot I did for Steph Wells. I met her last fall at a random gig we did shooting a Nashville marathon. We kept in touch and I am excited she asked me to do some portraits for her, as she is a musician. Here are a few photos from the shoot!
Whew, time is ticking. So quickly! I can’t believe we are under the 3-month mark for our wedding!
I hope you all had a great Easter weekend, Jeremy and I certainly did! It was full of the comforts of home and wedding excitement. I had my first bridal shower and I am so incredibly amazed by the love surrounding us. I am so thankful for all of you who attended my bridal shower and for those of you who sent best wishes our way. It was a beautiful day and I’m still in shock that I’m going to bride!
Another highlight of the weekend included a visit to our wedding venue! It was such a dream seeing the place we would become man + wife! After hearing so many things about it and seeing so many photos, Jeremy and I were more than eager to see our venue! It’s absolutely perfect for a fun and casual, summer wedding!
Yep….sign of a true farm. No worries, the chickens will be up for the day. I’m sorry for this anti-southern comment, but I’m just not a fan of chickens…don’t you think they are a little creepy?
Here it is! We have this beautiful barn, a dairy barn and use of the entire 100+ acres property!
This is the dairy barn where my bridesmaids and I will get ready! There are multiple rooms, bathrooms and a ballet studio in here.
This is the other side of the dairy barn:
There ya have it, friends! Jeremy and I are so very excited!
Three months into the engagement. Three months from the wedding.
We will finally get to see our wedding venue on Saturday. That’s right, we’ve been planning off of feedback from our parents and we are more than stoked to see the place we will be getting married! Tomorrow we are headed to Virginia, so I wanted to leave with a fun post that will absolutely make your day. And if it doesn’t make you smile a little, then I’m not sure what I can do for you.
About two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to do an assignment for Nashville Lifestyles magazine. Each year they do a “Cover Dog Search” in hopes of finding Nashville’s next Heidi Klum in dog form. The search was held at Cheekwood and it was an absolutely beautiful day. It was so fun to be a part of! Ya’ll know I’m a dog lover (my first AIM screen name was “Eyeluvk9s” sad, but true story.)
Dogs laugh too, right?
You know who this reminds me of…Chris + Adrienne Scott’s (of Chris + Adrienne Scott, Photographers) dog, Wilson! Wilson’s named after Wilson Hall at JMU. Seriously, Wilson is after my own heart.
Meet Winston….he’s Kristen Steele’s (of Kristen Steele Photography) special pup! Oh, photographers and their dogshe knew exactly what he was doing…he’s a pro!
Seriously, look at him rockin’ a mohawk.
Jeremy tells me the day we have a backyard, I’ll get my golden retriever. I love dogs, but after my childhood dog being a golden, I can’t help but love them to pieces!

Well, there ya have it. Smile a little, laugh a little…go buy a dog if you don’t have one. And if you live somewhere that doesn’t allow dogs (like my place!) then offer to dog-sit. How can you not love them?!
Have a lovely weekend!
Though I have a true love for blogging, my mind has been so filled to the brim lately that I’ve hardly had time to even sit and think.
As of right now, I’m juggling job hunting, wedding planning, photo editing and surviving. It’s a lot to do and my main gear is multi-tasking but I’m wearing out a little bit today so I decided to update the blog with a post. Hopefully, this will be more regular in the upcoming weeks as I have had a more flexible schedule with the job hunting.
Today, I just wanted to share some photos from the last month or so!
First up, my roomie, Jennie Willoughby! This shoot happened last minute and just gave me some time to get creative. Also, just as a shout out, Jennie’s quite the artist herself…check out her firs release, “Old Umbrella.”
Next up, Jeremy and I’s adventurous trip to Chattanooga, TN. We went without directions or a plan and it was awesome! We spent the afternoon exploring Chattanooga and its good eats and then ventured off to the aquarium!
These jellyfish were so mesmerizing.
We stayed at The Crashpad. It’s a boutique hostel with awesome bunks for only $27 a night! They even have a kitchen to prepare meals, a common room with Macs and an awesome pavilion outside for when it’s warm.
Ladies and gents…I give you my future husband!
I’d be lying if I said that’s all that’s happened in the last month, as Jeremy’s parents and my mother both came for a visit! His best man, phil, even made a quick trip! Also…my wedding dress came in and we got our invitations….so we’ve been busy for sure. Keep in touch, as I’ll be uploading previews from the most recent wedding I did!
