Claire: Nashville Portraits + Personal Work

July 31, 2013

Recently, I’ve been itching to do more and more personal work. I’d love to do more personal/travel work, but that requires a little bit of money to be traveling all of the time. Though, Jeremy and I are headed back to the beach with the family late next week. Outer Banks, here we come!

With that itch to do some personal work, I did this little shoot with a friend of mine, Claire. (She teaches the zumba class that I LOVE at the Y!) Claire is also quite a dancer (hence the ballet slippers), so those Zumba classes get intense quickly (well, for a girl who has absolutely no rhythm), but I love every minute of it. One day, I just happened to ask if she’d like to model for a shoot,  and thankfully she didn’t think I was creepy! Her friend let her borrow her wedding dress, and this all came together. It was just fun to get out and shoot just for the fun of it. And, when Claire showed me that red romper, I knew I had to incorporate it into the shoot. I had bought the hat + jewelry because I wanted to go for a navy/gold look, and when I remembered they had just repainted the “I Believe in Nashville” mural in 12 South, an extra stop was added to the list.

It’s two very different locations and two very different looks, but I’m just loving the colors and how the styling came together. Let me know what you think!

Thank you SO much, Claire for allowing me to photograph you for the afternoon! It was so fun to work with you!

And a HUGE thank-you to Ms.Rebecca Red for doing Claire’s beautiful makeup!
