Jess + Hunter: Sunrise Nashville Engagement

May 7, 2014

Good morning, friends–it’s another beautiful day!

When I originally met Jess and her sweet mama this past fall, Jess had the biggest smile on her face when talking about her fiance, Hunter. Hunter was deployed at the time and has been in and out of town in the meantime due to his service. I always am so amazed with couples where one or both are in armed services. The strength, faith and love is always incredible to me. I find it such an honor to document this special time for them, especially since they don’t get to see each other as frequently as they’d like. Getting to document their excitement and love brought me so much joy.

Hunter proposed to Jess at Centennial Park, so they met me at sunrise on a beautiful April morning. The stillness and lack of noise make sunrise sessions some of my favorites–it’s totally worth the loss in sleep! Afterwards, we headed to the University School of Nashville to spend some time in the ceramics studio, as these two kindled their story together while taking a ceramics class together in college–how fun!
