It is a joy to watch two friends marry…and to document that special day for them is an entirely different level of joy. Jon and Leah met during their time at JMU (Go Dukes) and have been inseparable since. I honestly can’t remember a time that I knew Jon without Ms.Leah around. They are two of the kindest souls you’ll ever meet and they care so deeply for those around them.
They may have been a short distance away at JMU, but shortly after college, their lives completely changed when Leah was accepted to serve in the Peace Corps. It was a dream and passion of hers, and Jon supported her every step of the way. For two entire years, these two loved with an ocean between them.
Halfway into her service, Jon made a special trip to her in South Africa and topped off her once-in-a-lifetime experience with a proposal! Talk about patience, commitment, joy, diligence, and true love. Needless to say, when Leah arrived home this past spring, there was much to celebrate!
These two officially married in August at The Obici House, a simply beautiful historic home in Suffolk, Virginia! The married near the water and the weather was oddly mild and perfect for August. The rain stayed away and these two danced the night away with dear friends and family!
PS–Jon is the man behind our amazing wedding video! He’s endlessly talented!!
