A Cherry Anniversary: Five Years

A blog post on a Saturday!?

Well, it’s our anniversary (The big 5!) and just like the past couple of years, I couldn’t help but share a few favorite photos, as I feel like my favorites change each year. And I expect they’ll keep changing as the years continue on. That notion alone makes me think so much about the honor I have to document such an amazing day for a couple. A day of family, joy and endless celebration. The good stuff.

Five years.

What a JOY it really has been.

I’m not one for being overly sentimental, but when I think of the life that we’ve built together already, I’d know it’s my greatest accomplishment, and really, not mine at all. The Lord has taught us and grown us in ways that I didn’t really think were possible. I never imagined to be the wife that’s attached to her husband, but when your husband is actually your best and dearest friend, you just can’t help it. He builds me up in ways I couldn’t have dreamt of in a husband, and he’s endlessly patient with me!

From day one, we’ve decided to put our marriage second (behind the Lord), and well, it’s something I’m incredibly thankful for. Though my business has been hard and tiresome at times, I can only count on one or two hands the number of times we didn’t have dinner together (when we were both in town).

We’ve spent countless evenings sharing conversation and sharing meals. We’ve made dreams happen ( #TheCherryTrek!), and we’ve seen more places together than I ever imagined we would. We made a home we loved and built community in Nashville for many years, and those years are years we will never forget. We were engaged in Nashville &  married in Virginia, and last year, we made our way back home to Virginia where we’ve fallen in love with our new home, Charlottesville.

We’ve seen friends become parents, friends marry their best friends, we’ve lost people we love, we’ve found church communities we adore, and we’ve spent many a hike talking about life.

It’s been a sweet, sweet five years. And I know it will only get sweeter! Here’s to countless years ahead of sharing meals, sharing life and building a life together, Jeremy!
