Maymont Engagement Session in Richmond, VA: Katie & Mark

Maymont is one of those iconic spots in Richmond, and believe it or not, I hadn’t photographed here until Katie & Mark’s session! It’s a popular photo spot, but with moving to Nashville right after my JMU graduation in 2011, my business took off in Nashville to start rather than Virginia. But, I knew I’d get the chance to photograph at this beautiful spot once I returned home. And what a way to start!
Katie & Mark picked the perfect day for their engagement session. It was a nice warm day after a string of cold weather, and the gardens at Maymont were in full bloom! We explored the Italian and Japanese gardens, which were always my favorite as a kid. The light was simply and perfectly golden that afternoon, I couldn’t have asked for more!
These two went to Virginia Tech, and I met them through my amazing planner friend, Alana of Chancey Charm. Katie & Mark will marry this December in Richmond and I know it will be nothing short of lovely.
I am so excited for you two, Katie & Mark! I can’t wait to celebrate you two and your marriage later this year!
