Spring UVA Engagement Session in Charlottesville: Jess & John

I first met Jess through my husband, as they both work together at Journey Group in Charlottesville. What’s funny is I saw John at a gathering or two for the company, but since the company parties can be quite large and entertaining, I never got the chance to officially meet him until their engagement session!

These two had a shorter engagement, so we ended up doing their engagement session a few weeks before their wedding. I loved doing the engagement session so close, because the anticipation was even more real! They were weeks away from becoming husband and wife, and that joy was so evident.

We met at the gardens on grounds at UVA, as John proposed to Jess in one of the gardens. The gardens looked a bit different since he had proposed in the winter, but we got the chance to photograph a few of them on the same bench he proposed to her on.

Jess & John are officially married now, and I can’t wait to share their wedding soon. These two have such an incredible community surrounding them and it was so obvious how well loved they are here in Charlottesville. And their wedding day was such a reflection of how well they love those around them. It truly was an incredible day that could make the most random stranger well up with joy.
