Nashville Coffee Shop Engagement Photos in the Nations: Katie & James

I first met Katie through the Nashville wedding industry, and we became fast friends, especially after working together for Lindsey & Jack’s romantic Nashville wedding. She would always keep me updated on the latest with her beau, James and she’d always say “when I get married, you’re shooting my wedding!!” Of course, I was honored! Well, the day came a bit sooner and James asked this beautiful friend to marry him with the most romantic NYC proposal. Talk about a good story to share!

Katie is part of a super tight-knit family and I always loved hearing about her vacations with her family at “the lake” and all the other adventures they shared together. So, of course, James and Katie will marry this summer at the lake her family is so fond of in Wisconsin! James hails from South Carolina, she’s a Wisconsin girl and they fell in love in Nashville, so it’s going to be a wedding that blends all the things & people they adore. It’s going to be one for the books!

While I was in Nashville this past fall, we were able to sneak their engagement session in between and my goodness, I sure do miss shooting in Nashville!  It was supposed to rain all day for their session, but we were able to switch it up last minute and reschedule for the day James got home from touring – I’m so grateful it all worked out with some sunshine. Plus, these two have major style and I loved how they weren’t afraid to be themselves and bring in some color. We met at Frothy Monkey in the Nations, the neighborhood they currently live in and adore. It was perfectly Nashville, and perfectly them without being touristy and what you’d expect from a Nashville session. I just love it when couples choose locations that truly mean something to them!
