Annual Lifestyle Family Photos in Charlottesville: The Kelley Family

One of the greatest gifts of doing this work I love is getting to work with families each year. Not only do I get to see families grow (in so many ways!),  but I get the chance to. learn more. and more about each family each year. The connections between parents and their kids,  the connections between siblings, the dynamics of different ages and stages….it’s all such a treat to experience!

I photographed the Kelley family last year as they were expecting their sweet Bette, and a few months later as they welcomed their entire extended family in town. (You may know Lora, as she’s a local singer/songwriter and Eric, as he’s a photographer himself!) Though covid shifted some of our plans to document their family shortly after Bette was born, we got to celebrate this fall during one of the sweetest times in a baby’s first year. The phase between sitting up and walking is one of my favorites! Babies haven’t lost their rolls and they aren’t entirely on the move yet…which makes for some sweet moments. Add in siblings who simply adore her and can’t get enough of her makes for quite the endearing session.

So, to bring a little happy to this rain-instead-of-snow day, enjoy a few favorites from this perfectly glowy fall evening!
