Elegant and Modern Maternity Session in Charlottesville

Pregnancy is such a tender season. A season that includes the widest range of emotions, especially as every woman faces something different in pregnancy, and even each pregnancy with children can feel vastly different. It’s a season of so many unknowns and so much anticipation. And it was a joy to photograph the every-lovely Mallory as she walked through her third pregnancy – and now her son is officially here!

I’ve had the honor of photographing her & her sweet family through many seasons as they welcome their other two children, and I’m thrilled to document this sweet little man too, starting before he was earthside! My vision was with this hand-painted backdrop I made along with some photos at home, especially during a time where we’ve all spent many extra hours at home. It’s also a haven for families, and I simply adore photographing sessions at home. And since her sweet daughter, James, was around while baby brother was sleeping, we snuck her in for a few sweet moments and I think any mama’s heart would burst with her sweet & adoring smile while reaching out to her baby brother she had yet to meet.

I also used this backdrop for my Motherhood Minis in May and I’ll be sharing a sneak peek at those sessions next week – a spunky & fun vibe all while having the same simple backdrop!
