So many months of growth and so many months of waiting, yet it’s still a whole new beginning.

I love when new parents welcome me into their home as they’ve just welcomed their child, the whole home is buzzing with excitement, even in the quiet. Even in the exhaustion. It was no different with this sweet family as they welcomed me in earlier this year to photograph their firstborn son.

The clouds arrived earlier that day, but then they parted throughout their session to give us the perfect opportunity to head outside to document their family outdoors… new life among the bursts of spring. Though I adore the in-home photos we got too, especially in the nursery with family art on the walls, it was so fun to go outside and use the natural warmth and light surrounding us — I think I could get used to heading outdoors for newborn sessions during the warm seasons!
