Sunrise Family Photos at Home in Crozet

If you’ve been following along the last couple of years, then you’ve most likely seen this sweet family pop up on my feed and blog a number of times.

We first worked together the November after we moved to Charlottesville, and it’s been a match made in heaven ever since! This family has welcomed me into such dear milestones, and Britt has even welcomed me to document some branding photos for her as she’s now commissioning art work and creating amazing pieces! (We are having her do a custom piece for Baby #2 and I just can’t wait!!)

When she contacted me this year for their annual session, we originally planned for a late summer evening. The timing didn’t quite pan out, and I had this vision of a sunrise session with their family. 2021 has brought a dance with loss and grief for this dear family, and through it all, their love for one another and their community has never waned. They’ve always been a bright light,  and their honesty through this season has been nothing but inspiring. I couldn’t help but think that a sunrise session would be a beautiful symbol for a new day,  and a fresh start full of light…a reminder of hope in a year that’s brought a lot of heartache.

I’m incredibly grateful that Britt & Jared were on board with the idea, and I simply adore the photographs we were able to create together. My hope is that these photographs are a testament of their love & joy as a family, even in some of the hardest valleys.
